A 1:1000 dilution of SPC-1304 was sufficient for detection of OCT4 in 10 µg of HeLa cell lysates by ECL immunoblot analysis using Goat Anti-Rabbit IgG:HRP as the secondary antibody.

Oct-4 (octamer-binding transcription factor 4) also known as POU5F1 (POU domain, class 5, transcription factor 1) is a protein that in humans is encoded by the POU5F1 gene. It is a member of the POU family of transcription factors, has been demonstrated to be vital for the formation of self-renewing pluripotent stem cells. During embryogenesis expression of Oct-4 is limited to pluripotent cells of the inner cell mass (ICM) that contribute to the formation of all fetal cell types.
