A 1:1000 dilution of SPC-1295 was sufficient for detection of GLUT1 in 10 µg of Jurkat cell lysates by ECL immunoblot analysis using Goat Anti-Rabbit IgG:HRP as the secondary antibody.

Glucose transporter 1 is a uniporter protein that in humans is encoded by the SLC2A1 gene, also known as solute carrier family 2, facilitated glucose transporter member 1 (SLC2A1). GLUT-1 functions in constitutive or basal glucose uptake in adult tissues and is the predominant glucose transporter in embryonic and fetal tissues. It has two forms, a 55kDa and a 45 kDa. The 55kDa form of GLUT1 regulates import of glucose from blood to brain across the endothelial cells of the blood-brain barrier, whereas the 45 kDa form of GLUT1 predominantly regulates nonvascular glial glucose uptake.
