A 1:250 dilution of SPC-1078 was sufficient for detection of RSK1 (pThr573) in 10 µg of HeLa cell lysate by ECL immunoblot analysis using goat anti-rabbit IgG:HRP as the secondary antibody.

RSK1 is a RSK (ribosomal S6 kinase) family of serine/threonine kinases. RSK1 contains 2 nonidentical kinase catalytic domains. RSK1 is known phosphorylates various substrates, including members of the mitogen-activated kinase (MAPK) signalling pathway -- a pro-growth/anti-apoptotic pathway, as it will activate CREB, which in turn will upregulate expression of cylin-D and c-Myc. Activation of this pathway is common in various types of tumours. In some cases, such breast and prostate cancer, upreguation of RSK has been shown in some patients.
