A 1:250 dilution of SPC-1007 was sufficient for detection of LIMK1 (pThr508) in 10 µg of HeLa cell lysate by ECL immunoblot analysis using goat anti-rabbit IgG:HRP as the secondary antibody.
Cytoplasm
Highest expression in both adult and fetal nervous system. Detected ubiquitously throughout the different regions of adult brain, with highest levels in the cerebral cortex. Expressed to a lesser extent in heart and skeletal muscle.
LIMK1 is a protein-serine/threonine kinase. It regulates organization of cytoskeleton by inactivating phosphorylation of CFL1, CFL2, DSTN and inactivating phosphorylation on TPPP to inhibit depolymerization and destablilization of actin and tubulin. It is involved in cell motility, cell morphology, cytokinesis and cell cycle progression. Overexpression leads to developing invasive phenotype and metastasis of cancers.
