A 1:250 dilution of SPC-900 was sufficient for detection of A6 (pTyr309) in 10 µg of human glioblastoma cell lysate by ECL immunoblot analysis using goat anti-rabbit IgG:HRP as the secondary antibody.

Expressed at high levels in the colon, testis, ovary, prostate and lung. Expressed at lower levels in the brain, bladder and heart. Not detected in liver.
A6 appears to be an actin-binding protein involved in motile and morphological processes. It inhibits actin polymerization, probably by sequestering G-actin. By capping the barbed ends of filaments, it also regulates motility. It seems to play an important role in clathrin-mediated endocytosis and distribution of endocytic organelles.
